Privacy Policy
Effective July 23, 2026 · Interlay Software LLC
ServiceComply is a product of Interlay Software LLC ("we", "us"). This policy covers three things: this website, the ServiceComply office portal, and the ServiceComply field mobile app. The short version: we collect what the product needs to run your backflow testing operation, your company owns its data, and we do not sell data to anyone.
The website
If you request early access, we collect the email address you give us and use it for one purpose: contacting you about ServiceComply access. The website does not use advertising trackers and does not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing.
The ServiceComply platform
The office portal and field app process data on behalf of the backflow testing company that holds the account (our customer). If you are a technician or office member, your company is the owner of this data and controls who can see it.
Account information
- Name and email address, used to sign in and to show who did what.
- Company (organization) membership and permissions, such as whether you can perform field work.
Business and compliance records
- Customers, job sites, and backflow assembly details, including their physical addresses.
- Test readings, repairs, tester certification and gauge details, and the compliance reports generated from them.
Photos and camera
The field app uses the camera so technicians can photograph backflow assemblies, serial number tags, and repair evidence. Photos are attached to the job record and synced to your company's account. The app only takes a photo when the technician taps to take one.
Location
The field app uses precise location for two things: capturing the coordinates of a backflow assembly, so the device can be found again on future visits, and centering the map on the technician's own position while they work. Captured coordinates belong to the assembly and are saved to the job record. The app does not track technicians in the background and does not collect location continuously.
Data on your phone
Job data is stored on the technician's phone so testing works offline, and syncs to your company's account when a connection is available. A sync notification may be shown while this happens. Signing out of a device is controlled by the technician and their company.
How we use data
- To run the service: scheduling, field testing, review, and report generation.
- To generate the compliance reports your company submits to water districts and cities. ServiceComply does not send reports to authorities itself at this time; your company stays in control of delivery.
- To communicate about the service: access, support, and important changes.
We do not sell personal data, we do not use your data for advertising, and we do not routinely share your business records with third parties.
Service providers
We run ServiceComply on established infrastructure providers that store data on our behalf: application hosting and databases, cloud file storage for photos and generated reports, and an email delivery service for messages like sign-in and access emails. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
Security and retention
Data moves between the app, the portal, and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access is scoped per company: members of one company cannot see another company's records.
We keep your company's records for as long as the account is active. Backflow compliance is a multi-year record-keeping business, so we do not auto-delete test history. Your company can request a full export of its data, and can ask us to delete its account and records.
Your choices
- Location permission can be denied or revoked in Android settings, which turns off coordinate capture and map centering. Photos are taken through your phone's camera only when you choose to take one.
- Companies can request an export or deletion of their data by contacting us.
- Individuals can ask us what we hold about them and ask for corrections or deletion, subject to their company's ownership of business records.
Children
ServiceComply is a business tool for backflow testing companies and is not directed at children under 13.
